I have been a resident of Stokes County since I was five years old. I attended Lawsonville Elementary, Piney Grove Middle, and North Stokes High. Yes, that's correct- I was once a student at Piney Grove! I was even a student in the exact same classroom that I now teach in! I have a lot of childhood memories that include Piney Grove and I am thrilled to now teach in the school that I loved so much as a student.
After high school I attended Appalachian State University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Education. I graduated in December 2015 after completing my student teaching at Sandy Ridge Elementary School here in Stokes County. Throughout my college experiences and internships I have taught in Watauga County Schools, Burke County Schools, Wilkes County Schools, and of course, Stokes County Schools. I have worked with all age groups of students and I am certified to teach all subjects. Language Arts and Social Studies are my favorites so I started teaching those here at Piney Grove in February 2016.
Outside of school I enjoy playing music. I am a bluegrass and country musician and it is my true passion. I have traveled with several bands over the years and music has taken me to many places. Most of my weekends are spent travelling and playing music and my summers are spent playing music almost full time!
I am now living in King, NC with my wife and dog. I look forward to working with everyone this school year!
